Bollywood Ever green star, Dev Anand went forever.

           The romantic actor and fashion icon of the Bollywood passed away after cardiac arrest. Last Saturday (3rd December, 2011), the ever green star left his last breath in London. The press trust of India (PTI) assured the news of Dev Anand’s death by his relatives. It is said in the news of PTI, “Last few days, he did not fell good physically”. He died in 88 years old. He went London to check up his health.

           Amitabh Bachchan, Sabana Azmi, Anupom Kher, Sharukh Khan, Preity Zinta including other Bollywood stars mourned in the death of Dev Anand.

            Dev Anand started his acting career with the film “HUM EK HAIN” in 1946. Then he never looked behind. He acted in more than hundred films. Besides, he also produced cinema. Some mentionable films where Dev Anand acted are
– “MUNIM JI (1955), C.I.D. (1956), KALA PANI (1958), LOVE MARRIAGE (1959), KALA BAZAR (1960), HUM DONO (1961) and GUIDE (1966). The film “HUM DONO” was released again in colorful screen last year.

             He was continuing his acting at this stage of his age too. This year, He acted in the film “CHARGE SHEET” which was released from his own production company. In 2007, he said in an interview to Bollywood Hangama dot com, “I never live without Cinema and acting. Making cinema and acting is my first and last love rest of my life”. He was awarded with “PADMABHUSHAN” in 2001 as recognition of pure loving to the cinema. After that, he got “DADA SAHEB PHALKE” award for special contribution to Indian cinema in 2002.

            Anupom Kher wrote in twitter, “Kind, brave, passionate, forthright and encourageous -ultimately Dev Anand was an excellent man. We will fell his absent among us”. Writer Salman Rushdi wrote, “I grew up watching his cinema. I feel pain to say him bye”.

            Dev Anand was born in Punjab (at present in Pakistan) of undivided India at the area of Gurudaspur in 1923. He completed his study in Lahore. Then he went to Mumbai (Bombay) for acting in cinema. In 1954, he married Kalpona Kartik. They have a son and a daughter in their married life. His brothers, Cheton Anand and Bijoy Anand were film directors. Renowned film director, Shekhor Kapoor’s mother Shil Kant kapoor is Dev Anand’s sister.
